Hi, been playing around with the Eastwood cadium 3 part paint kit on a hood latch and alternator fan. On the hood latch would the springs be cad or steel grey. Doesn't look as nice as true cad but maybe w more practice could be better.
Hi, I have seen in both cad and galvanized in pictures. Some with fan and pulley in cad, fan in gal and pulley in cad and visa versa. When I was at mccan a couple weeks ago same thing. Was it random by plant or parts availability at run. I'm not sure. Thanks,
Jim is correct, it doesn't matter what you saw at MCACN. GM alt fans at that time were never yellow or gold plated. Latch looks nice!
thanks for the feedback on the fan and any easy fix and presume pulley should be galvanized color too? On my latch, would the springs be cad color too?

I would not call the pulley galvanized in color. I would call it silver or silver cad.http://www.eastwood.com/ew-silver-c...e=&network=g&gclid=CP--2f6P1tACFcEbgQodA_cOjw The latch was plated before the springs were installed. But, for sure, get other opinions here.
Alt fan was silver zinc. Had some shine. Problem is many rebuilt alternators come with gold fans and guys replace this and think that is how it was. Pulley was silver too. I am not a fan of the gold paint systems. They always look like paint to me. The springs on the hood latch were gray phosphate. At least that is how it appears on a nice original I have.
