Finally after years I got my 62 Wildcat. Known the car since 1993 and I know she should be mine....some day.... She has two owners before me and was bought new at Bay Motors in Coos Bay Oregon. This is a dream come true.... being an original Camelot Rose WC.... I would like to create a owner register for all the 62 Wildcats. If somebody here owns a 62 please let me know.... Best regards, Hans
There was a 1962 Wildcat registry at some time, it is mentioned in these threads: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?138708-1962-Wildcat&p=1081540#post1081540 http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?84113-1962-Buick-Wildcat-Road-Test&p=1067288#post1067288 You might try and see if it is still active. Also a couple of good threads on the BCA site: http://forums.aaca.org/topic/253013-1962-wildcat-production/ http://forums.aaca.org/topic/253427-1962-wildcat-in-ok-unrestored/
Love the colour, great score on the car! The 1962 Wildcat would have been my first choice, always loved the lines of those cars, but I'm still happy with mine.
No, the interior is not Camelot Rose, it is white. If anybody is an owner of a 62 WC, please send me a pm....
Now she is finally home and looking good. Had to wait a long time but when she came it was worth the wait. :bglasses:
She's pretty. Basically in 62 the Wildcat option was offered on the Invicta, which got you buckets with console, knee knocker 7k rpm tach, and floor shift, white vinyl roof, Electra exterior trim sans the rear quarter gravel guards and no stainless down the middle of the trunk, obvious fear invoking Wildcat badges (ha), and a claim that all came standard with a posi (not true, mine and a few others I know of are open diffs). They had a standard 342 gear ratio with an optional 445.
I had a '62 Invicta that had STOCK buckets & shorty console. It had a 3.07 posi rear & shift on the column. No gravel guards, had radio & clock. Still have the w/s/w knob I found under the seat. Must have gotten lost at one time at the factory or ??? One of the few I wish I NEVER sold.
