Alan, look what I found, while being bored at work today....... unless this is where you found your photos? trying to find out who had it to begin with Attached are photos of my rare 1969 Buick GS Stage 1 Convertible (400ci with 4-speed Muncie ). In 1969 only 77 Stage 1 Convertibles were delivered with a Muncie 4-speed. The GS Club of America believes there are very few of these left on the road. The original Invoice, Protect-O-Plate, and Owners Manual are still with the car. The car was purchased in Shelbina, Missouri. The owner relocated to New York where he raced this car (as the "Missouri Shaker" ) at famous east coast race tracks, including: Utica, Island Raceway, Lebanon Valley, Dover, etc. I have endeavored to retain the 'track decals' which are still on the right rear quarter window after 43 years. While Buick's 1970 GS Stage 1, and the more famous GSX, are the holy grail of Buick muscle cars... fewer of the 1969 models remain, which makes this a very rare automobile and one I am fortunate to own. It is a pleasure to share it with those who appreciate the great muscle cars of the 60's. Clem W. Sevde Norwalk, Iowa
Guy Thanks for all of the pictures you and others contribute here . I really enjoy them . Do you have any info about this Pic ? I wonder if it is my car . I know it had 3 different incarnations of the wileycoyote paint job . Pat
Huh? I never really gave it much thought that could be your car. Don't know anything about it...will see what I can dig up. Nice looking car though.
For some reason I didn't think this car had a Offenhauser intake. Thanks for the under hood photos Guy
It doesn't. It uses the factory Stage2 Edelbrock B4B intake. Maybe you're confusing the signature KB Offenhauser valve cover breathers they always used on there stuff?
Thanks Ryan - Where did you those and the article ? I have no clue where I found what I posted because it was longer ago than yesterday ou: I'll pass that around to some EastCoasters and see if anyone remembers it .. .. its not like there were a lot of triple black '69 Stage1 4 speed Convertible race cars afterall
Wow- way cool. Now that you say it, It does look like it says Kennedy Bell Inc on the quarter panel. Do you know where the car was campaigned out of? Also being it has the Kennedy name, and the fact there are no newer model cars/trucks in the back ground, the pic must have been taken in 1970 give or take a year. What is the build date? You should talk to Doug Jones to see if he has any info on it...
My buddy's used to own this car. Any of the old timers remember ? When they had it ,it said Crotts & Smith on the side of it.
Original owner was from Oklahoma. Second owner bought it in 73 . He was from Texas. Build date is 01D. I will message Doug Jones ....... Wow . Thanks for finding that pic!
Guy strikes again! Those '68 cars are too cool. The Truby '71 shot is already on here but certainly worth a second look!
Lots of cars I never even read about nor heard about , that is for sure. Thanks to Guy and others for the history lesson:TU:
