Ya, people at car shows are so knowledgeable! :pp They're confusing your car with the Olds Toronado.

My Army retirement gift to myself; 2005 Springer Classic. She is paid in full, but don't have much time to ride because of my 68GS400 project. My initials of my first and middle name + Springer2005 became my handle.

I Have rode bulls, saddle bronk and bareback since I was fourteen. I got a scholarship to DCCC in Dodge City KS, wich is where I grew up, For Bull riding, wich I went on to try to fill my PBR permit, but got hurt very bad one nite at a Thunder Shoots tour. I was hospitalised, with a concussion, a broken eye orphice, nose, cheek bone and stitches accros my head. At the time, at the age of 28 it finaly put the fear of God in to me. I rode one more time at the State Fair, and knew it wasn't in me anymore........

Back in 2000 I had a truck with license plates that read RUFSTOK for "Ruff Stock"
I then traded the truck off for a 71 Skylark that was pretty nice that someone had repainted and fixed up. I had my tags transfered to the Sylark.

Well, time went on and one weekend my exwife and I went to Texas to see her folks. I got a call from my boss who actually lived two blocks away from me in Pretty Prairy KS, He said, that my house was on fire! Yep, burnt down so I had to sell the Skylark to help us out.

The person that bought the car "John King" (I still remember his name)
asked me, What does your lisence mean?.... Are You Fast, OK ?
I laughed and said, Thats true. I does say that too! So, I always kept that handle.

Years ago my handle used to be MarkVII after a 90 Lincoln Markvii that I loved. I gave that car to my son and then got a Cobra and changed my handle to Cobravii.
    I've used it ever since.

Now that I have the Electra too I might have to change it to Cobra225

At one car show someone confused my car with a later model Oldsmobile.
A father and son looking at the engine.
Son;"Dad, this car doesn't have sparkplugs."
Father: "That's how you can tell it's a Diesel"

Back in the late 40's Ohio offered what they called initial reserve plates. You sent in A request to the dmv and you got two letters and two numbers. My Dad got BL 20 for his car (Blake Lowe and he was 20 years old) and kept the plate until the program was discontinued some time in the late 80's. The guy never threw anything away as long as he lived so when I restored the 70 gs my first really nice car I dug out his 70 plates and took advantage of another dmv program in Ohio that allows you to register a classic car to an old set of plates the proper year. I have had old guys came up to me at cruse ins or gas stations asking me where I got the plates because they knew my Dad and remembered him or his cars. Seams the old man drove kinda fast and had the habit of picking up hitchhikers My brother already has the 1965 BL 20 plates picked out of the box for his GS when the restoration is done

Wow...I didn't know that Jacquie was here! Hi Jacquie...How's Glenn?

Okay...My screen name came about due to AOL and the 9 letter limit that they had for screen names WAY BACK WHEN (LOL). My daughter is a heart transplant (she was transplanted in 1990 at the age of 5 1/2 months) and is now almost 22 years old and doing well! So, my screen name on this (and pretty much every other board is XPLANTDAD...which is short for transplant dad :)

Thanks Bulldog...I have dontaed blood many times (My daughter required two complete body blood transfusions after her surgery...so I felt that I needed to give back. I started doing Aphersis donations in the mid 90's and continue to this day.

I also signed my donor car when I was 16...years before Holly was thought of :)

Chemo patients and Immuno deficient patients (and other patients) need the products from Aphersis. Plus the donor cna donate more often as an Aphersis donor. Just saying so others will know. :Smarty:
