I never knew this, I have worn out many water pumps on the buick 350s and was never asked about water pump length when I was ordering my pumps ever, and no, I did not order the same part # everytime, or order by the same year every time. I always went in and asked for a pump for a buick 350.....thats all I told them, it was a long time ago when parts people were very up on the products, but still.[/QUOTE] i m pretty sure i have wrong waterpump pulley on mine as I think my 73 engine is out of a fullsize..only thin i noticed is my ps belt is at an angle and kind iof freyed a lil..been like that for a couple years...same waterpump. I'll try and get out to my uncs and measure the thickness of my wp pulley and compare to yours
Tim, The shop has stated they can do whatever pulleys are sent in, full sets are not required. If all 4 are sent in, each could be purchased separately, assuming the pricing ends up being acceptable to the interested parties. Mike, I've just heard back from the shop, and the pulley sizes will not be a problem, other than that he'd need to buy new material to go 6 3/4". I've given him your contact info, and will PM his info to you.
Hi David, and Mike I know a lot of people are concerned about prices for the set, do we have a general ball park figure on a set? This might help get more people on board to pony up for a set on the first run of them. I am in for a set for sure!
a little late to call him now, but shot him an email 'll give him end of the day tmrw for a responce then i'll try calling him the next day if I didnt get a responce by him
C'mon everyone! please, if you are interested in a set of these pulleys, post your interest in this thread. :beers2:
well, I think we determined by drilling an extra few holes, I can use these pullies for my 340. So I'm in.
Nate makes smaller pulleys, like 3" - 3.8" diameter, for the 3800 superchargers. Those run $50-$55 each, std or polished. However, he needs to buy larger material to make them in the 6 3/4" sizes needed for crank pulleys. So I'd assume a somewhat higher cost. That will be determined once he has the oem pulleys and finds out his costs for the new material. Voting in the poll is not a commitment to buy, just a gauge of interest, so not knowing the ballpark price yet should not be a big factor. Mike needs to make sure Nate knows that you guys need pricing before he goes ahead with production. Once Mike posts the expected pricing, you can look at feedback from that info to decide whether or not to go ahead.
well these were for 300 pullies 340 is an odd ball.buick could have used 300 pullies or 350 pullies...but either way it'll work with little to no effort
I suppose I am stating I am very interested then :TU: As long as it's the same size i'm sure it'll work, and most of the acces pullies should be ok I'd think. o No: I'm just a noob though :beers2:
The oem pulleys are on their way to the machinist!! I sent in a single and a double groove alternator pulleys so people can have a choice.
I may have missed it somewhere in all these posts, but can he do 455 pulleys also? Or are the 350 pulleys the same? Or is there already another option for the 455's?
so my tracking number tells me the pulley set was delivered on jan 27th! Hope we see a nice set of aluminum pulleys soon!
Trying to get this thing on the ball, called and got voicemail so hopefully i;ll get a call sometime later and see what the deal is and where everything stands Mike
