I have the week off so I finally took some pictures of my car. I know it looks bad but you should have seen it when I got it. It's a '66 but I think the front end is off a '67. The guy I bought it from said the engine is a '74 but after checking on some numbers it's looking more like '71. I can't find anything on the block number(1231447). The engine code is TO 173, I think that's '71 after checking at TeamBuick.
Let me guess. Hawthorne? Midland Park? I think that block you have there can be either a 1971 or 1972 350 Buick. Others will confirm.
You mean where I live or where I bought the car? I'm in Ridgefield Park, I got the car in Allentown, PA.
Yeah I was trying to take a guess where you lived. I'm from Westwood area. I actually lived a few years in Little Ferry back in the 60's. I think that's right next door to you. :beers2:
The previous owner told me he put that front clip on becuase the original was damaged. He said that the original had vents on the fenders and was shaped differently. But I don't remember what car or year he told me this clip came off.
Dont know why you think we'd laugh, that looks like a decent foundation to make a nice car. If your that embarrassed, I'll come relieve you of it....:Brow: :Brow: :Brow:
Yep, Little Ferry is the next town over. If you're ever in the area feel free to stop by, I'm at the end of Sixth St. :beer
I'm not embarrassed, it's just that this car was neglected for too long and butchered up a little. When I brought it home the engine was covered in so much oily dirt that you couldn't see paint anywhere, not even on the valve covers. Leaked oil all over. Vacuum leaks everywhere. Detent cable dragging. The rear end was almost touching the ground. Wires hanging from under the dash. Ect, ect. It's actually pretty nice now in comparison, now that I think about it. And every month it gets a little better. :TU:
Hey, at least your car is on the road! I bought my '67 over two years ago, and it has been parked ever since! That is a '66 front grill and bumper. The front fenders are interchangeable between '66's and '67's. The vents on the fenders are different, but neither were functional, and it looks like yours were removed.
Thanks for the encouragement guys. It's slow going but I'll get this one back into top shape. Well you know where I'm at, so if you need a hand don't hesitate. :beer
I'm not sure yet. I want to have it all one color but I don't know how it will look with the moulding that separates the body from the white top.
