Here are a few pictures of my cars. 1970 Skylark, 1971 GS 350 convertible and 1972 Suncoupe. Today I went from BUICK/3 to BUICK/2. (I will keep the name BUICK/3 because I know there will be another one someday.) The 1971 GS sold today and it will be off to California on Wednesday. I do have some space in the barn now to start on restoring the Suncoupe which has been sitting in that spot and waiting for over 9 years. ---------- Eric
Nice pictures Eric. Reminds me of one I took a few years ago: '70 GS hardtop,'71 Skylark convert, '72 SunCoupe.
Thanks Jon. Very nice cars there. Now that I am down to two I hope someday to find the one that I have always wanted which is a 1970 triple brown GS 350 or 455 hardtop like the one another member, Tom Miller, just bought. I really like your Suncoupe. Its good to see what mine COULD look like someday. ----------- Eric
Alright kids... Here are more shots of my car, taken this weekend. I haven't installed the HEI unit yet, but it is finally road worthy enough (I know it doesn't look like it--don't judge me!) to make the 450 mile trip from Florida to Gulfport. The ironic part is that this car right now is the best running vehicle I own. The truck has a bad catalytic converter in it, and the bike needs a new regulator rectifier... There is a few of the rear seat pan, my rally guages I picked up for $50 in '99 (hey this then-seventeen year old knew a good deal when he saw it), the '73 motor, and the Chevrolet YA code Rallyes (which I have wanted on this thing since I was 16). ...And the newest mod: barking steering column mounted tachometer/alarm system! Later KFD
1971 Skylark Custom Convertible. A P.O. redid all of the sheetmetal, new quarters, fenders, trunk panels and paint. They also bubba'd a lot of things but that is what makes these resto projects a challenge. Here she is when I brought her home. Gigantic coil springs in the back, a broken coil in the front, totally wiped out suspension bushings and more.... Here she is today with the new top installed. Mods/upgrades include tilt wheel, Corvette 3 spoke steering wheel, 95 Monte Carlo bucket seats, custom center console, rally gauges, in dash tach., completely overhauled suspension, 4 bbl. intake & carb. Mines a 70 Stage tribute car --455 30 over, Comp cam. headers with 3 inch dumps 400TH, painted Thundercloud , new interior.
Here are some live action shot from this past weekend at the GS Nats. She ran her best time of 10.97@122mph in street trim

Here is mine just got back last Friday. 1971 Skylark Custom GSX Tribute It has a mildly built 455 in it. <a href="http://s640.photobucket.com/albums/uu127/jz76935/?action=view&current=CIMG1173.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/uu127/jz76935/CIMG1173.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I have a 1971 Skylark 350-2 Custom 4 door. The car originally belonged to my great grandparents. It has always been garage kept and has 114k miles original miles one it. It was given to me 6 years ago. It hadn't been started in a year or 2 so I rebuilt the carburetor, changed fuel, trans, and oil filters, replaced a few gaskets and it was my daily driver for about a year. It started up fast and drove fine (except for a leaking rear main seal). About 5 years ago I moved across country and the Skylark sat in my parents garage, untouched for about 4 years. Last year I took a renewed interest in it and changed the fuel filter and put some fresh gas in it and got it started while visiting my parents. Since then my Dad has been starting it regularly. I was home this week and we spent a few hours freshening it up (in 20 degree weather). It still starts right up but it hasn't actually been driven in years (the tires are all dry-rotted). We let her run for about 30 minutes, she idles great! My Dad and I are talking about pulling the engine to replace all the seals and stuff but it's hard when I live 2,000 miles away. Anyways, here she is currently: Fresh parts and paint As she sits Also does anyone know what that color is called? I looked it up and it seems like Willow Mist green but I've been seeing it called Sea Mist green a lot too. Thanks!
