I read this today, and have been trying to understand it. I read and speak English, and have an adequate vocabulary, but I am having trouble understanding what this person is saying. I’m having trouble understanding her point, along with why it would matter. Anyone want to take a stab at it? Patrick
I had a roommate that wrote like that once, and I think he runs a university now. Who the heck knows?
Do you want fries with that? Either that, or that person will become an academic and will infect other minds. Likely the latter.
This is a person that writes many words but fails to get the point across. I'm reminded of a quote by Ernest Hemmingway, "To be successful in writing, use short sentences."
It’s a form of HR/Management speak. They say a lot of words but never get around to answering your question.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metabolic_rift I hadn't heard this term before but have long thought of pure Capitalism as a psychopath that is willing to destroy anything that leads to more profit. The obtuse author intends to perceive art forms (immediately?) prior to the Romantic period as a socialist to propose an interpretation/critique of the Romantic period that is different than what is currently written, or accepted, by most historians.
Ahhhh…..makes sense I was thinking the Romantic period was a 12 pack on a Saturday night! Soooo it’s Mister Mojo rising?
It's extremely easy to comprehend what this person is trying to say. "I'm a useless individual on a fast track to a guaranteed doctorate. Shortly after, I will provide no positive contribution to the world."
