So after 50 years of engine heat, solar damage, and vibration, What do you like to use to supplement the dried up remnants of the (goop/ caulking )the factory put there when they assembled it? Working on a 69 GS hood and would like to reconnect the upper skin with the inner hood panel and reduce hood flex . The hood is already painted so not trying to create a lot of heat with the product used. Thank you for any suggestions of product you have used. Tony
I forget the proper name for it, but 3M and SEM both make a 2-part expanding foam that is used specifically for this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000PEZ1FK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I don't remember the color. It might have been a light tan ish. Or rainbow striped. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/v000179172/ Black it is. So much for my memory.
