Crower Forged Crank- 4.365 Stroke, 3" mains, 2.200 rods Race main and rod bearings Total Seal Rings with Steel top compression ring - 1/16 ring package for long life. 54MM TA Performance Solid Roller cam and lifters- specs to follow Billet timing chain O-ring block, copper head gaskets Custom SRE wet sump oil pan. Induction TA STG 2 TE heads- fully ported 1.65 Roller rockers Custom sheet metal EFI intake manifold. EFI- studing all options for control system. Supercharger- Pro Charger F3 or Vortec V-7 YSI 50MM cog belt drive Coil on plug ignition Exhaust Custom Stainless steel Step headers- thru full exhaust Useage- Street/Strip 71 GS Performance goals Base Motor- 750 HP On 18psi boost- 1500 HP JW

Piston Pins Pins are important to not overlook in a blower motor. These are H-13 Tool steel. .205 wall thickness. Shown here next to the Standard NA 470-555 pin. A little heavy at 187g, but a piston pin is not a wise place to try and save weight.. break one and it's a bad day. And we are swinging an alum rod. So the assembly is reasonably light, for a 6500 rpm engine. JW
Rods Rods are GRP Aluminum units. 6.600 length .990 pin 2.200 big end These are the Pro Series 5301 rods, made from their Pro material. Thicker pin ends and a more dense material make these rods the ones to get for street strip service above 1500 HP. While these are shorter than the NA 555's 6.800 rods, the more dense material actually makes them heavier- 670 G vs 630 for the 5001 series rod. Don't spare the rod.. or you could spoil the motor! As compared to the standard 5001 series rod, it's not difficult to see the extra material at the pin end. JW

Jim, Have you thought of going to turbo's, yes I said turbo's.. I talk with Mike Morgan and Adam Wyatt when I can, about turbo set ups. I have learned one thing about Turbo's that are a big advantage over any power maker except nitrous! The turbo only requires 5 to 7 hp to operate no matter the size you are dealin with. where superchargers pull atleast 100 or more on the high power ones and the pully belt puts tons of stress on the crank snout, where the turbo is nice and gradual on the power output all the why down the track. and is easy on parts not like the rest of the power adders out there. Just a thought.....
I'm a big fan of the Prochargers, but I've got to agree with the idea of a twin turbo setup. 555 cubes and a pair of hair dryers......yeah buddy!!:bglasses:
Ya, thought about it, and if I was after 2000 HP then yes, we certainly would be looking into turbocharging. Dave Mongeon went that way with his setup. But for what we are building, the simplicity of packaging on non-intercooled, low boost, S/C setups is appealing. I probably will turbocharge my tube car, when that time comes. That car is a few years off yet. JW
