As I recall, that one was around $1500 and the customer supplied the intake and intake runner/base (from TA).
Building a single carb intake such as the one I have posted on here is one thing, but building a tunnel ram with twin dominators is a whole different ball game. I certainly can build it, but I'll be the first to admit I do not possess the knowledge to design/engineer it to be the best that it can & should be. That is a combination of art and science that I'm just not well-versed in. If someone gives me the "proper" design/dimensions, I can build it..... no doubt, but I can't/won't design one from scratch.
The build will be similar to what’s in the TA wagon. The car. I’m looking but haven’t found anything that trips my trigger yet. If need be we will cage out the 66 Skylark and go from there.
If you are intent on going with a dual quad dominator intake. Consider building one with TWO tops. One for dual carbs and one for a single. Go on a dyno and bring several different intakes and carbs. That is what we did with Ken Montour's 530" aluminum block Stage 2 SE heads. Mild .680 lift cam. It is NOT built as an all out race application. It is a street and strip combo. Not a high revving peaky HP engine. It has a long broad and smooth torque curve from idle right on up. And that is what is needed to move a HEAVY car. Using both 2X4 and single Dominators. Right now it is running a single 1250 for 1/8 mile and it is running mid 5'S in the 1/8. Our track now races 1/8 mile. You won't see 100 HP from a cast intake to a sheet metal intake. The twin dominators will use up a whole lot more fuel than the single. If you didn't watch that Engine Masters video I posted. Consider watching it. Folks can expect a lot from a sheet metal dual quad intake. That is why going on a dyno with different carbs and intakes might be a good idea. We did. And we are still testing at the track. Ken's combo is still relatively new. Right now we are favoring the single Dominator. Because it uses a whole lot less fuel. And race gas is really expensive here LOL
Since you are doing a Tomahawk build and since you are needing a custom intake, are you using the tall-deck block? Might as well. When you get to that level, why not.
Nope. This is a block I have had laying around for several years. I had 3 and this is the last one. Pretty sure it will be the last one I build.
