Like the title says, I’m hoping somebody sees this thread and can either connect me to the the guy that built it or provide some additional details. My brother and I used to be “into” the muscle car scene. Both of us have changed courses substantially and no longer have interest or time. This is a 1967 special he picked up around 10 years ago in Northern California. All the paperwork for the engine build has been lost with several house moves. The car was stolen and recovered from his house in San Jose,ca. When it was stolen the engine was never run because the starter was removed prior for replacement. It was recovered less the 24hrs later because it was blocking an intersection. The car is pretty loud with a very choppy idle and we believe the thieves pushed the car away from the house planning on starting it up. I’ve changed all the fluids and it runs great. From memory I believe it’s a 455” bored .030”. I can see from the oil fill that it has roller rockers. As well as a HV oil pump. It has an SP 400 tranny that operates as it should and stalls about 2800 while the switch is engaged. Unsure of the rear gearing but would guess 3.55-3.73. The car rips. And allegedly ran 12’s. Has semi “boxed” control arms in the rear. The car had a NOS system when my brother bought it and it was never used and uninstalled. Most of the parts are still in the trunk. Let me know if you recognize the car. I will be posting it for sale soon.
https://v8buick.com/index.php?threads/1966-special-w-455-stg-1-motor.222900/ knowing that its a 1966, I was able to find the for sale posting. Not sure if that is the member my brother purchased from as I was station OCONUS back then.
