Well I got the backbone of the engine in, big plus. I really want to avoid a girdle if possible. And if this wasn't going to be a reality I was going to sell everything. So step by step. Make for an awesome street engine anyway. I think 1000 rwhp at the tire is definitely doable.
I dont think I'd push it past 6500-6800. This is not an NA engine . It will make more power by turning up the boost and opening up the cylinders so the heads can flow. . The Flow numbers from Scotty on the CNC TA heads mirror this . Its just not necessary . This will be a street car with the ability to crack 1000 at the tire .
For the people that PM'ed me , The crank is stock dimensions. It was the only way Moldex would do the job. I guess to not have to do a clean sheet design. I had one other manufacture that was interested but wanted 11k$ just for R&D.
Keep us posted on the build, with pics Yeah, if your boosting it, no need for high rpm, the turbo will move the air. Probably no need for even 6000 rpm.
Yeah a rich Arab in Canada, go figure. He had the other one made. I mentioned it a couple times Moldex Made the cranks. And a year turnaround and a stack of money 5 . Im sure they could make more.
Do you by chance have a part number & would you be willing to share (even via DM if you'd rather) what it cost? If not, I totally understand but the part # would help. I assume if a few of us got together that the more they could make at once the price might come down. I'm probably a ways off from being able to swing the $ anyway & don't need it anytime soon but was going to send my crank out & would hold off if this is an option.
The crank is on its way, will be here Thursday. I didn't see any part number on the bill that I remember. This isn't something they are planning on producing from what I understand . Was fill in work I believe. The deal was done through Scotty Brown. I'd talk to him about it. It was under 5k$ all said and done. I don't see that going down unless you got a bunch of guys.
Thx.! I don't need it anytime soon. Not even sure it's really even needed for my build but... Looking forward to seeing more pics of yours though!
Got my hands on the crank today , what a awesome piece. on to the rods and cam no identification on the crank but “Moldex” No part number as I figured. Heck no paperwork just a sticker lol.
1000 at the tire. Should be enough to have the highest hp 350 Buick to this point. Unless the Rich Arab makes more. I'm not in a competition.
