Hi all, looking for the original transmission for my 1971 Stage 1. It was a December build out of Framingham plant, most likely a BB transmission. Last six digits of VIN are 102631. Needle in a haystack but who knows, one could get lucky. If I find it, I will put up the current transmission number to see if it can be united with proper car. It's a 70 BA. The 1971 car lived most of it's life in Massachusetts, Vermont and the last 25 in New Hampshire but when it was sold to the owner who I purchased from and owned for the last 25 years, the BA transmission was already in car. Will want a real BB transmission at some point if I never find the original, so if anyone has contacts for anyone with real BB transmissions, please feel free to send along. Appreciate any help, thanks!
Could be an OW. Complete partial VIN (1G102631) that would've been stamped on it in case in case anyone does a Google search. Needle in a haystack but its happened. There's probably a Facebook page for this type stuff too. I know there's one for ppl looking for cars they used to own. Lots of MA/NH guys on here too.
Dano, really appreciate the feedback. Yes, could be an OW, just going off of what a few others have shared with me on 1971 Stage 1 transmissions and how that relates to build date. If there is an OW or BB transmission out there with my VIN, works for me The TS is stamped on the block, but also not seeing a VIN on that either. From all I know of the history of the car I believe it is the original block. If I ever tear it down maybe I will find something I cannot see now, but really should be able to see it now. Thank you again for the response and help.
Thanks Mike, have checked there but maybe I need to remove the power steering pump/bracket? I have not done that yet, please let me know your thoughts. Love the back and forth, appreciated and wouldn't that be cool if someone had the transmission with my VIN
