I am looking for a needle in a haystack,,My original 4 speed transmission to complete my car.The last 4 of vin stamped on the side should be 1876.last known location was in Texas 15 plus years ago.I know its next to impossible but its worth a try,I know it didnt leave the planet,It is worth more to me than anybody else any help much appreciated
I'd list the entire VIN &/or at least the partial (e.g. 40Xxx1876) in case anyone out there in the world does a search.
thanks for the replys,,I am about half way through the restoration I have a dealer trans no vin but 100% correct,,Ill patiently wait and hope for the best.I may post in the Texas area as well on craigs list and Facebook
Was the dealer/counter replacement in the car when you got it? If so,it is possible it was replaced at the dealer, under warranty.
Great question,,No it was not in the car, somewhere along the line 15 plus years ago it came up missing,or was sold I dont really know, all I know for sure is its last known location was in or near Texarcana Texas or so I was told
The one I had I bought with a setup from another member. He swore up & down that the car still exists. I listed it on here for quite awhile, but after a year,I put it to use. It just takes the right person to see the ad. Good luck.
I'd try all the known Muncie rebuilders, as well. Quite a few might be in Hemmings, and not really computer saavy.
You just never know what may happen..I kept an original motor and auto trans for a 71 GSX before they were reunited...
