I think I will pull it and give it a shot myself. I have put a few buicks together from the frame up but have always been afraid of taking carbs apart. Any type of holley rebuild kits do you recommend ? Thanks
chris - saw your pm's and replied . hope that kinda explains where I head when I take one apart . not sure if I call myself a holley "ace" but I try and use correct parts and carefully work my way through each one . I also have a holley catalog with carb list# info and a couple holley manuals that I reference a lot . if you are gonna pull that apart yourself larry is correct - fairly simple . look complicated at first but once apart and laid out you can see how everything kinda fits/works together . they are modular so I just grab a couple small "trays" and use one for primary parts and one for secondary parts , i keep notes as i disassemble with jet sizes , nozzles numbers , power valve numbers etc . then I compare to my holley info for that carb . like I said in the PM the metering block numbering system could be ALOT better . really kinda all over the place . a couple pics would be good , and if you need to call for an idea or two or need some holley info go right ahead . i'll PM ya cell # . good luck . del
Chris, just figure out which bowl is flooding. When it acts up, shut the engine down. Unscrew the bowl plug on each bowl. Gas should just dribble out when you rock the car. If it pours out (be prepared), you've found the problem. Take that bowl off, unscrew the needle/seat. Look for any obvious damage or wear. If none, shoot some gumout on it and reassemble. Check the float to make sure there is no gas inside of it and reassemble.
kits ? there's a ton of 'em . I pretty much just stock a quick fuel 3-2300 for the holley 350 and 500 2bbl's and also stock a couple quick fuel 3-2000 kits for the basic 600's ( like about $18 at summit ) . I just keep a selection of extra throttle body and bowl and block gaskets and pump diaphrams to use with them as needed . that and a few small parts ( bowl hardware , needle and seats , extra floats , power valves etc ) covers me on the 450-850 cfm standard holley vac secondary and mechanical secondary carbs . HP style carbs , dominators and others take dif metering block gaskets etc .

Pulled the carb today. Front bowl level was fine but the rear was full of gas. Also picked up a nice Holley 37-1544 rebuild kit to hopefully bring it back to life.
Took longer to find the Holley rebuild kit than it did to rebuild it !!!! Thanks for all the advise guys , Test and Tune tomorrow after an oil change
Worked out great as far as the rebuild. No more flooding and the car runs. As far as the timing , vacuum and four corner idling that is a work in progress A lot off fine tuning to do , also put in some new plugs. I can usually tell when this car is firing just right after having it for so long. Probably going to pull the valve covers and check all my roller rockers etc.
As far as adjustments to idle screws I would turn all 4 in gently till they seat then back out approx 1 or 1-1/2 full turns as a start up point . Left-right should be same , front-rear may be a little bit different after adjusting .
