interesting... I do not have reason /issue to replace my 05' 6.0 Powerstroke, Turbo Diesel F250. Its Studded and EGR delete + a SCT Tuner with 4 custom tunes. You can select a tune with power wherever you need it.
Yep, your truck is in a whole different league. If I went to an enclosed trailer, F250 is the answer. For my open trailer, 7500 lbs and about 7000 miles of hauling this F150 is adequate.
We studded, deleted, injected and SCT tuned our 2003 Excursion 6.0 too. Pretty funny to watch the ricers fade into the mirrors with their mouths wide open after being blown away by an 8000 lb 4wheel drive monster of an SUV.
I think the key to long life on the ecoboost engine is proper maintenance. I wouldn't buy a used one because if you don't really take care of this engine that's when the problems start. Think about it, this thing is a race technology motor, it needs proper care. also the water pump issues and timing chain issues were resolved after 2015.
