If this topic belongs in a diff section, please move. Has anyone assembled a complete matrix of emblems for the various years and models of Skylark? Something like the chart below. I started this because I am trying to confirm emblems for the GS350 I am restoring. Please chime in if you have data to add to the chart.
...how far do you want to go, there are also interior emblem differences. I'm a documentation geek, so I use Assembly Manuals...
Your car is pretty straightforward: '72 (only) grille, '70-72 "GS" & "Buick Motor Division" fender, '70-72 "GS" trunk, & '72 (only) rear bumper.
Only the '68-9 rear marker lights & IIRC '67 GS 340. There are a couple documented cases of '72 GS (all 350 cars) convertibles that came from the factory (this would've been a Fisher Body mistake) w/Skylark (& maybe 350) emblems on the quarters in addition to GS/BMD emblems on the fenders. I'd have to have some seriously solid documentation proving it to restore a car that way. This is one of them & was a local car to me growing up & even then it'd be tough to prove I think: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-buick-gs-convertible/
How about this one. It was on this board. https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?t...uckets-air-tilt-cruise-etc-21-000-obo.353786/
68 did not have 350 or 400 in the rear marker lights, only 1969. If you seen 350 on the rear quarter of a 70-72 GS they are not factory stock and were added. Only the Skylark 350 had badges there. 68 Front fenders: "GS" and either 350 or 400. Front Grill: GS Trunk center "GS400" or GS350" trim piece 69 Hood:350 or 400 or Stage 1 Rear marker light: 350 or 400 Grill: GS Trunk lock: GS
