I've seen various compressor top brackets on 455 engines with a hole drilled in the top of the bracket and a ground wire bolted to the hole. Is this factory and, if so, where should the hole be? Here's my 1970 bracket without the hole and the ground wire is secured with a nut and bolt to the corner of the compressor. How was this handled in the '68-73 GSs?
This is a correct 70 GS455 with AC. I thought you needed a shorter belt until I saw the pulley size. .
I believe 71 also had the top ground bolt hole….at least big cars did. Can’t imagine why A bodies wouldn’t have.
71-72 used same bracket with small hole and screw for ground. 70 bracket was a totally different bracket with no small hole and bracket was a totally different angle.
