I'm looking to convert drums to disc. I found this kit https://www.performanceonline.com/1966-69-Buick-Riviera-Front-Disc-Brake-Conversion-Kit-WBKS63651/ But want to be sure I exhaust all resources. Is there a spindle I can use from another gm Model, rotors, proportion valve (plug and play), pads....etc.....
I am completely lost at what you have said.... spindle boss ??? What year Car do I used for the parts I need ??
On the spindle is a square area that the drum backing plate attaches to. This is machined off to allow stock parts to be attached. Black 70 Buick aka Chad, might be a better resource for how to go about it. Provided the wheel pattern is the same for 70, I think he converted. The spindle dimensions where the bearings sit are the crucial areas to match up. In my a body, I used factory parts after machine work was done. Somewhere in here I had pictures, but it's been 9 years.....m
Scarebird has what you need for 185. https://scarebird.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=61&search=Buick
On my 69 I just brought the stock kit just a little over $300 , all boll on I got the proportion valve separately, they also offered drilled and slotted for a few bucks more
