I have a friend here in Iowa that is needing a front bumper for a 65 Special or Skylark. He sent one off to a place in calif to be restored, it was sent back to him and when he checked it out, it was not the one he sent and when he called them on it they basically told him to pound sand and won’t respond to him. He’s not a member here, so I thought I would ask and see if anyone has a decent bumper or a good core that he can purchase Thanks, Mark
Better make sure which one he needs. Specials had smaller turn signal lamps than Skylarks, & the bumpers are different in that area.
He knows and has the lamps for either one He’s not going to be picky on this He just needs a bumper so he can get the car back on the road
I posted on his post on facebook..never got a reply..i have prob the best used 65 special front bumber ive ever seen in kansas city ks
Mark If you want to send it to my email. Marklob@gmail.com I’ll get this info to him, and thank you for this. Mark
Here is the place that screwed up the bumpers. The Bumper Depot out of Rosamond California His front bumper the chrome is flaking off, and hasn’t even been installed. The back bumper was installed two weeks ago and I was told yesterday the chrome is cracking and starting to flake on it now. The shop is not taking his calls and told him it’s not their problem
Hey Mark hope life’s good with you I’ve seen bumper Depot here on the West Coast. They hit a lot of swap meats always seemed a little shady. Another company West Coast out of California That I’m not impressed with big D’s chrome, Id recommend avoiding them learned my lesson the first time quote Price, want a lot more when they return the bumper marginal chroming job at best, needless to say, they didn’t get any more money out of me I took my bumper and left
Roy, Good to hear from you. yea, life is pretty good, retiring in 2 weeks. Time to play again! seems like there are more and more shady companies out there that have found a way to scam people , give them a crap service and think they can walk away. Word gets around in this hobby, right!
Mark congrats on the soon to be retirement I did it Dec 10th and couldn’t be happier The thought was scary after working since a teenager but it’s great! No day to day stress I down sized a lot - sold cars, house in Washington bought a house in Arizona but the other half still is working up there so I’m constantly back and forth to her place in Seattle I have no regrets about doing it all. Enjoy your retirement you deserved it life’s good with no schedule
I am looking forward to this. Time for travel, time to go to the lake and then there’s always my wife list of things to fix or paint at home
