Have a '59 with the original 12" aluminum front drums, MoPar 11" rear drums (Dana 60). Originally a manual, 1" bore, 'shallow piston', single-pot master cylinder. Going to upgrade to a dual MC. I'd like to utilize a 'Corvette style' MC, but having trouble finding specs that shows one compatable with 4-whl drums. Anyone gone this route- what MC did you find? Thanks. Pic for ref: Corvette MC in a B-59.
Found this 1" bore one: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/631...SFQg0LoNHIWwJuaQIiSbZWjw60W-AGT1QyFX6sW04dHN4 Only question would be the pushrod interface.
I think all the vetted stuff is 4 4whl disc......it will make alot of pressure If I recall disc setup run around 800-1000psi where drum setup used like 400-600psi. These are both under normal stopping
'65-66 would be a single pot MC : except for Cadillac, GM didn't go to a dual system until '67. Jeg's unit linked above says good for both disc/drum and drum/drum... but that seems to fly in the face of what I've read about MC's...
Tech guy at Jeg's wasn't very helpful. Jeg's lists the above MC as good for BOTH disc/drum and drum/drum, but that it requires a proportioning valve for drum/drum. This has to mean the MC itself is 'valved' for disc/drum, and must be 'converted' via the PV to be used on drum/drum. Guess I'll give that a go.
