Hello Everyone I am in the process of restoring a 1963 Buick Le Sabre 4 door hardtop which has the 401 nailhead engine in it and the dynaflow automatic transmission. I would like to "upgrade" the carburation and exhaust on the car, which I believe was a genuine optional extra with Buick in 1963. Therefore I am looking for a four barrel Carter Carburetor and inlet manifold to fit onto the 401 nailhead, also any linkages, cables and pipes which are needed to set it up. I would also like to fit a dual exhaust system tot he car and would like to find the parts for this? Your comments and advice would be appreciated? Thanks Johnnny Buick
Maybe not - I think alot of Lesabres came with the 280 hp 2bbl nailhead - the only things that guaranteed you a 4 bbl were a Wildcat, Invicta or a Duece. Either way Johnny, there is sure to be someone on here that has an extra intake with a AFB or 4GC set up...they're not rare. As far as the exhaust, any decent shop that bends pipe should be able to put together a dual exhaust system. I highly recommend Walker Dynomax mufflers, if you're asking. Throw some pictures up on the post of your car! 63's are very cool, almost my favorites. And 4 door hardtops are WAY underappreciated.
john I have a carb and intake but I am trying to find about the carb. it was on a boat engine.it is a four jet carter that was rebuilt but has been setting for awhile. where are you located. I do not have any linkage for the engine. the engine is a 1963
