What size is that actual size for this pulley with the crankshaft? I have tried 37-x/x range up to the gates 7140. It’s still loose for some reason. I’m trying to figure out what’s the size I need since the belt has a looseness to it. The power steering is 5-5/8 and the crank is the 231 which is the 3 groove. It’s loose on the 1st and 2nd groove. I’m currently doing a swap from 231 to 350. Any belt numbers would help. Thanks.
For a stock pulley 71 350 with a/c. Alt & pwr strg. If you have mismatched pulley combos, wrap a rope around and measure length. Go to the auto parts store....
I did both. I got 40 in in diameter for it and went with 41 and it was loose. And then the auto parts store doesn’t know or help as much since they need particular year and make. I ordered the block rather than me finding one. But my pulleys I guess are bigger because they 5-5/8s for the power steering pump being bigger.
I believe I'm running a stock 3.8 v6 belt on my swap belt #11A1005. Some say 40.07" some say 39"?? I measure my belt with a clothes tape measure from my wife it came up as 40". Hope I'm not too late on helping you out Josh https://www.vbeltguys.com/products/11a1005-metric-standard-oem-equivalent-cogged-automotive-v-belt
