Cant wait to see and hear if any of these bad ass buicks get to do any of this real street racing I keep seeing about of the tv........
As one of the Co-Chairs of the BCA meet in Midwest City, OK I can tell you it will be fun assuming the weather cooperates. There are some great self driving and bus tours and there is a lot to see in the Oklahoma City and surrounding area. We have over 150 Buicks registered for the show filed including 400 Pt Judging, display, archival, modifieds, drivers and seniors. Over 460 folks registered. I am headed to OK Monday morning as I am the signage, car, vendor, and trailer parking czar so I have some work to do before the folks start arriving Tuesday afternoon. I am taking the 1921 Buick this year for 400 pt. judging to see how it does. I have no history in all the documents I received when I bought the car last year that it had ever been judged. The restoration in 1979-80 looks all original to me but I will find out after the judging. Hope many of you can make it, right now weather forecast for next 10 days for OK City looks good with little rain expected but we know how that can change on a dime these days.
There were four GSX a the event. Two 1970 survivor cars. One 1970 Saturn Yellow Restored and an extremely rare 1972 GSX, Red with 455 and 4-speed. There were other A-body cars and several G-Body cars. Additionally there were some extremely cool 30s, 40s and 50s cars at the event. Great show day.
Go to AACA.org site, then Forum, then Buick, and you will find photos of of the event and lots of cars. Weather worked out fine, rain at night and clear during the day. On Saturday, judging on the show field was great after the rain stopped at 6:00 AM and the wind dried up everything and the sun came out. Heard a lot of positive comments about the venue, tours and overall meet. Next year 2020 the meet is in Clevcland suburb in July and then Concord, NC (race track) in 2021
The 1908 Buick at the meet has been in the same family since new for 111 years. Three generations of the family at the BCA Meet and they take folks for a ride with the 2 cylinder engine puttering and running great. Fun.
