Okay, so here's a question. My 2004r since new has always shifted wot at 5200 RPM. Lately I have stabbed the throttle to wot and it now shifts at a scary 5700 RPM. Any ideas that might cause a sudden change that increases shift point at WOT?
I'd say it's a change in the line pressure that the governors weights/valve has to overcome to shift at WOT. maximum line pressure is controlled by a relief valve in the pump, if nothing else has changed I'd make sure line pressure is within spec. There should be a port on the outside of the case to hook a guage to .
Thanks! Nope, no slipping at all. Except for WOT, the trans shifts perfect. Today I spoke with Lonnie over at Extreme Automatics who built the trans a few years ago. He says one of two possibilities, either the TV cable is off just a click or two, told me to verify with my pressure tester or he says if the fluid is getting too hot, the viscosity change could affect??? idk. I will check the TV cable to make sure it has not moved. I do slam the gas pedal pretty hard to the floor board!! lol
