Looks like seller has good documentation for this '71. And, lots of NOS parts. Great color and options.
Yes, that's what we see. Two possibilities you may not have considered. The assembly line installed an OW instead of a BA either on purpose or mistake. Second possibility is fraud, though I admit the stamping appear original in the picture. Bottom line is IF your spending 6 figures on a stage 1 car, are you going to invest that much not knowing for sure what you have? Not to mention the original engine is no there, which also really hurts the cars potential value. He states he has the protect-o-Plate, yet no picture of it? WTF, there is info I would like to see on it. Makes me wonder if there is a good reason why no picture is shown... So no, that is not solid proof of a stage 1. It might be, and it might NOT be...
Hi Dan: My name is David and the car posted is mine. ( i think we have crossed paths a time or two over the years on the very board. I will post the POP once I can get to the bank and get it and the title out. I didn't get there in time as I was digging the car out in time to post Sunday. From one "Well known" member to another, thanks for the interest!
Well, you very rarely will see a 71 stage 1 HT go for six figures and two it’s a well-known fact that Buick did install the Oldsmobile transmission in the stage 1 because of the strike or because of the transmission shop fire. In 71.
