You have to verify that the cable is turning. Did you use the right gear sleeve? There are two different DRIVEN gear sleeves, one for gears with 34-39 teeth, and one for 40-44 teeth.

Since the speedometer and odometer is not working I guess the cable is not turning.
Can the gear sleeve be verified on the ground or do I need to put it on a lift to check this?

If the wrong one is in fact installed, will swapping the correct one fix this issue?
Or could there be something broken now from possibly running the incorrect sleeve?

The gear sleeves have the numbers right on them. Here is the one for 34-39 tooth gears.

Here for the 40 and up gears,

If you have the wrong one, it might damage the gear, not sure.

    Mine is stamped 40 42.
It was really hard to see being on the ground but it looks like the square end of the cable rounded out the gear.

Looking to gather some additional info on shift points after Sunday's E-Town gathering with the new rebuilt TH350.

Left at 1800 rpm car (flash stall is around 2800 +\-) shifts automatically outta first at 4200 (all times) dropped to 3800 rpm in second, car shifted into third at around 55-5600 rpm and drooped to 4300 rpm and finished no better than 4900 rpm.

I'm thinking second to third gear shifting rpm is acceptable (1200 drop off maybe not so good) but was wondering about the first gear rpm shift point and the difference in rpm drop between the two gears. Do these numbers look normal?

Is the rpm drop from converter slippage? Should this be a consideration when doing governor changes?
I know the car will go to six grand but that doesn't mean that it will run best there at my level? At least I don't believe so.
what do you think about trying to get both shift points around 5200-5300 rpm? or should I just concentrate on increasing the 1-2 shift point and not worry about the rpm drop when it hits third gear.

    Tony,
RPM drop is normal. I have an inside the car video of a 12.20 @ 110.65 MPH run I made with my 1st motor. This is it. Not sure if you can see it in the downsized video, but I can in the full resolution one.

With my switch pitch in low stall, which was pretty tight, the 1-2 shift would drop about 1000 RPM, and the 2-3, about 1400. Both my shift points were about 5500, so it would drop back to 4500, and then to 4100. I have to make another in car video with my current combination. The converter will definitely affect how much the RPM drops back. Low stall of that switch pitch was tight. My RPM might not be dropping back that far now.

You need to work on your governor to get your shift points up. Aim for 5500 for both shifts. It's a lot of trial and error with weights and springs available in the B&M shift point modification kit.

I will be working on the governor very soon, I'll aim for 5500. I wish I had video proof of the old trans and converter to see the comparison between the two. I just feel like with the old setup the 2-3 rpm never dropped quite that far or at least it felt like it recovered more quickly and did not really notice the drop as much. When I get the shift points corrected, whatever it ends up doing I will have to just accept the results and leave it alone.

The 1-2 shift still needs improvement, 1-2 is at 4500 rpm and 2-3 is at 5800
    I'm currently using the #5 & 6 weights.
Since the lighter weight would be the 1-2 shift my question is, can one use two #6 weights? I do not think spring change only will make up the 1000 rpm needed.
