In search of a 3.250" main 4.400" stroke billet crankshaft or complete rotating assembly. Anything out there?

    Try Nick Servo.

Isn’t that what Ken Betts was selling?
I might sell a spare set of pistons. 1.425” c/h. These are shorter than what TA has in their kits so you can run an even longer rod.

Nick and Ken Betts both have the 3.00" main cranks in stock but out of the 3.25". I purchased the standard Tomahawk block that was for sale here last week.

Looking like 8+ months for the next batch of Molnar cranks.

Welcome to building a big buick...hurry up and wait

I did see that block, but I want the raised-cam,stock deck with the 3” mains. I will have a crank made with either 4.500” or 4.600” stroke.

Instead of sitting out a year, you could offset grind a stock crank .150 for that block, and build yourself a nice 500-515 cube motor, depending on bore size. No worries about the crank breaking, I have made over 1000 HP with a boosted motor with the stock crank. Off the shelf parts for this requiring only custom pistons.

Then slowly accumulate the big cubic inch parts, and transition to them down the road when it's time to freshen it all up.

Building Buick engines often requires flexible thinking, due usually to the often long wait to get parts.

Yes, was already thinking about going that route if needed. I have the crank and Oliver rods from my 494.

I have one at JW's and I actually need a 3" main. Happy to sell it for the current 3" main version from KB on top of any fee and shipping for JW to help out. PM me.

I’m thinking about taking one for the team. I have had Bryant cranks made for other engines and they are the best crank out there. The problem is they have never made one for a Buick. If I send them a crank to spec-out,the first one would be $14k. Any crank after that would be about $4300.00

Wouldn't just calling crower and getting a group order of 3 maybe be cheaper and quicker.
They make it already for the block.
They might not stop production to make 1 buick crank fast.
    But maybe for 3.
That was the old rule of thumb from moldex too years ago.

    Just a suggestion.

Idk..my Crower took 14months...that was pre COVID too

Any crank from anywhere will be at least 6 months. Crower’s will be about $6k with the options I want, but still not a Bryant. However, you can get that same Crower through TA for less. I may do that. 60 lbs is better than 90.

If you want to do the swap with Boe for his 3.25" main crank Molnar crank, then speak up, that crank is on my list to go to the grinder next week to get the mains resized.

    Glad I opened this thread..

    Let us know.

Crower told ne flat out any Buick crank had to be ordered thru TA ...but all depends who you talk to obviously guy I talk to may have been on his period idk

He told me that they make Buick cranks and I could order direct.
Still waiting to hear back from Velasco.
If you think Bryant is steep, you can always get a Windberg.

I think Mike does have the rights for the crank to be the only vendor. Same as the cometic head gaskets. Ran into that issue 2 years ago.
But i guess that's how it goes when you pay to design something. Would just be better if the stuff is available.
