Well, got the control arms out, both lowers are good, found this on the uppers. I know these bushings can be difficult to remove but come on. Really? Both upper arms are destroyed. And they never got them out and reinstalled them on the car! I have words that I will keep to myself. Problem is I already bought the Moog ball joints and cross shafts, Energy urethane bushings and all the bumpers. Can't find a set of OE upper control arms. Does anyone here have a set they want to sell? Or do I find a buddy who needs the new parts I have and go with tubular arms? 1972 GS 20241227_142401.jpg 20241227_142343.jpg

Cavemen! Do yourself a favor and buy the Astro upper control arm bushing remover/ installer tool. Presses them right out and back in. Takes minutes and doesn't mar the surface of the arm. Best tool you'll ever buy

And if the lowers are out, change the lower bushings too. You'll be happy you did

WOW someone butchered the snot out of those. You'd think they would stop after they were unsuccessful on one side.
Those might still be useable, depends on if the holes are still round. But if the bushing holes are as damaged as the surrounding area then yea, those are junk now.

Keep looking for replacement upper arms, maybe post something in the parts wanted section. Too bad we are not talking about a Pontiac, I actually know of a place that sells used Pontiac parts like control arms and what not.

I agree with CJay, if you already got the uppers off refurbish the lowers even if they look OK.

Wow. Have at least three sets of Big Bolt uppers, all southern NM parts. One set has been powder coated. Ready to install new ball joints & shafts. Dave S.

Dang I threw my stock arms away when I went tubular, I know I should have kept them but they were taking up space. Basic tubular arms aren't as expensive as they used to be though, worth a look.
