455 out of the Hemi Hunter stude is wounded, so back in with the stk btm end 430 with hemi killer cam. Added the ported stg 2’s, 1050 dominator and my noisy sideways headers. 30 inch slick, 3.73 rear, t-400 with 4200 stall, Stude weighs 3405 lbs with me on board. Let’s hear some guesses on what it might run…

Upper 10s, I went low 11s with similar setup on stk bottom end 430 but ported iron heads when I hurt my 464...my car is a few hundred heavier but I had 4.1

Became full with the heads though my 2.25 valves wouldn't clear the 430 bore...but the 2.125 do

Hard to say because the low compression.
If it was 10.5 to 1 then I would say for sure 10.99 and better.
But otherwise low 11.20 range because the car is lite.

Well it went 6.97 then 6.92 last night in some decent air. Went four rounds today going 7.0’s in 95 degree heat shifting at 5500 rpm. Lost on a double break out fourth round. This old motor with iron heads went a best of 11.72 in the quarter. Just swapping on the ported stg 2’s has netted almost a second of et. Many thanks to the Buick engineers that came up with these heads.

    Excellent ET
It takes quite a bit to get 3400 lbs down
Thanks for posting back the results so quickly

Did you need to fly cut the pistons for the Hemi killer?

Didn’t have to cut the pistons, it’s the club hemi killer. 490/490 241/241. Pistons are in the hole, no decking or anything special other than oiling mods.
