THE LAST SET OF VALVE COVER GASKETS YOU'LL EVER NEED!!

That's right! For the first time ever, reusable valve cover gaskets are now available for the 400-430-455 big block Buick engines. These are THE BEST valve cover gaskets EVER offered for our engines. Constructed from 3/16" thick nitrile rubber molded around a steel spine with torque limiters at each bolt hole that prevent over-tightening which can crush or split cork gaskets and cause leaks. The days of using old outdated cork valve cover gaskets that leak and tear are over!! These will ensure a perfect seal every time for years to come. Perfect for those who dislike cork or rubber gaskets that weep oil, or racers who have to remove the valve covers often.

    TA 1702-455D ... Introductory price $53.00

Are they thick enough for use with original Buick valve covers on your aluminum heads?

will they seal factory stamped valve covers? Also, are they thick enough to raise stock covers enough to used roller rockers?

I don't have a time frame off hand.

Yes/no, you would need to belt sand the lip of the valve cover to make it a little thinner, or bend it outwards to fit.

They will work just fine with stamped steel valve covers on iron heads. See my above answer for use on TA aluminum heads. They are not thick enough to clear roller rockers.

Stamped steel valve covers on TA aluminum heads require a 1/4" gasket (or a standard gasket if you belt sand the lip of the valve cover) to clear roller rockers.
Stamped steel valve covers on iron heads require a 3/8" gasket to clear roller rockers.
Note: High lift cams might require even more clearance.

Mike, any issues using this gasket with aftermarket cast aluminum valve covers like the ones you sell or the old Poston covers on the TA aluminum heads?

Nope, there's a picture above showing fitment using it with our heads and valve covers. Fits perfectly and looks beautiful.

Mike, any instructions with these? I normally use black weatherstripping cement and glue the gasket to the cover. No sealant between the gasket and head.

I would assume to that it should be installed dry. Just like my 1999 Grand Prix it has a GM reusable gasket for the transmission pan. I just replace the fluid yesterday and reinstalled the gasket dry. BTW it's now 21 years old and transmission pan is always dry and never a leak so far!

Yes my 98 Riv as well. They work very well. OK, no sealant at all then, makes things even easier. These gaskets look great, they were delivered yesterday.

Could a one piece oil pan gasket of similar construction be in the works?
