Renee and myself have been working with John Csordas and family and are proud to announce that on June 14th and 15th of 2019 we will be promoting a new Buick race. This will be the First annual Buick Bash at Quaker City Motorsports Park in Salem, Ohio. We will have the entire track for test and tune, gamblers race and qualifying from 9-4 on Friday. Then we will have our own lanes for racing on Saturday, this will be along with Quaker running some of their heads up racing. We are planning on having Q16, V8, and V6 race classes. Anyone who remembers racing at Quaker when the BPG was there in 2004-2005, knows what a nice facility this is and with numerous conversations with the owners we can make this a great Buick event at the beginning of the year. The flyers will be coming out soon and posted around the internet. Any questions feel free to ask. We want this to be a great addition to the other Buick events still running. Getting tired of seeing events go away, this will give us a Buick event earlier in the year to attend. Please fee free to share this to get the word out.

k, that sticks out in my.mind for sure.......
I remember cause about 2 months b4 I had to load my car onto the open trailer we had with a manual come along, it broke and u tried to put the car quickly in park b4 it rolled all the way off.........it didnt work to stop the car.....parked didnt engage. but it did work for rounding the corner off the park pall and on any kind of hill minus a slight grade I had not park.

I remember I was there alone the gift stopped in the box while the cleaned up oil in front of me having to hold the brakes the entire time, was close to an hr. after that I had a chunk of 4x4 behind the seat to use as a scotch.........ark finally got fixed about 5 years ago when i did a trans refresh

I was there in 2004 I guess. I brought hundreds of BPG hats over from China in a duffel bag that the club sold. Two colors, blue or grey. 100% profit for the club. Had a great time. I remember the cruise at the A&W or whatever it was. Met great people from New England and Minnesota. Raced the grayish green 72 GS455 that I came in. Brought slicks and used them, used the racing gas sold trackside. Trying to stop after the runs was almost as frightening as launching from the lights. Ran out of gas going back to the hotel. Blew an exhaust gasket going back to home base in the Chicago area. A long drive in bad traffic, especially in Indiana near the Illinois border. It was great. Need to do it again. Different place and car, just need to think that part through. Very possible though.

That's awesome news! I made the trip in my 68 in 2004 from Fargo, and got to the 3rd round as I recall. The car is gone and I'm in AZ now. Would love to attend, who knows if I might not find a way there...

I made the trip in 2004 to Salem. I was the 2004 1st Annual BPG Pro Bracket Winner. I had a bare block on the stand one week before the event. With my skills at that time, that probably meant I had a single digit percentage chance of making it to the event. Even though I owned my car since 1987, and raced a lot through the 90's, my Mom never saw me race. She flew out from Reno, NV to watch. My Aunt and Uncle drove over from Pittsburgh, and had never even been to a track. It was the best weekend of racing I've ever had, still to this day! I even took a picture of my car next to the TA wagon, that was another highlight for me.

I will try to make the event in 2019!

I was also at the 2004 event with my Silver '64 Riv. going rounds. Will do what I can to be there. Probably not race.
