I bet he gave you the impression he was gonna love it forever, when all he saw was $$$ signs and couldn’t get you to say yes fast enough.
I wish him luck. I was hopeful he was going to be the caretaker of this one for years to come. I honestly had the same plan with this one, and all of the aspects of my personal life made me realize this just is not possible. Maybe the next owner will be the one.
The ad doesn’t have a phone number or a direct email address. Is it possibly a scam? Although scams usually have low prices, unlike this CL ad.
Gary- the El Camino picture, the truck he has for sale (on another ad), and pictures that I sent to his phone, tend to make me want to believe the ad is real...
Anyone who flips a car and uses the previous owner’s photos in their sale ad is a douche bag in my opine. Too lazy to take your own photos?
I am guessing it is because George is such an excellent photographer, he knew his own pictures couldn't be better, lol.
It’s 2024, you can’t take people by the word today. There word means nothing a handshake means nothing today.
I've always been bothered by flippers. Of course, business is business - but this is also a hobby for most. And if you take advantage of someone or a situation - not saying that happened here - it just feels dishonest.
Integrity has become a lost art and no one sticks to their word anymore these days. That's why I like our (small) Buick community. I will say this flipper has balls the size of an elephant's, though. He didn't even own the car for a month, nor could he take his own pipictures. Not to mention the on and on with George after getting the car home. Yeah, okay. Apparently, he doesn't think anyone would notice (on the internet) or just doesn't give 2 shits.
Brett- he doesn’t care. The sense I got from him is that he is very “well off”. I am not going to defend him… but I always look at all angles. Did he get a qoute to restore it and it was too much? Maybe all of the small, easily correctable issues were too much. I know he knew there was several more thousand he could get for it (the second person who called me about the car was friends with this guy, and said he would give me $2000 over this guys price)…
Not being narrow minded isn't necessarily a bad thing, I just hate seeing a pillar of our small community getting bullshitted with all those praises after getting the car home. I guess it's really none of my business and you got what you wanted. Let's see how long it sits on Craigslist and how long before it's listed on BaT.
George, get prescription transitional. They helped me a million. Cheaters suck. But of course not as much as nothing. Working under the dash was always the worst for sure
