Was cleaning out my email account and came across this picture. Chris -CJP69- found this one for sale out in California around 2004/2006? Listed for 14K by the original owner. It was LOADED with options- I believe almost every option. Spoke with the original owner, had a local guy go out and drive it. I recall it did not have the original carb, but everything else was original- paint, interior, etc. Our negotiations stalled at 12K.

I believe PDX Mike, from the Pacific Northwest, bought and restored this one. I believe it popped up for sale ONCE (50-70K), and then disappeared. Chris may have saw it once at a show...

I know, I know. If I could only remember the guy who inspected it for me... He said it was 'fast', and was 'spinning the tires in second'... There was a dent on the DS fender... I cannot believe I passed it up... He may have been asking 17, was willing to go to 14, but I was at 12.... Maybe that's how it went... LOL

No offense intended when I say this, but it's okay that you didn't get it because you would have sold it shortly after buying it, as soon as something else caught your eye. :)

I do wonder where that car is today. Maybe it will surface again soon. I like the two-tone paint.

Gary- this is probably true... I like the thrill of the chase, then getting them back on the road. I have fallen out of love with a few, significant life events have forced me to sell others (divorce, when the housing market dumped around 2008/2010, purchasing a home, schooling for Dyl, and so on). I honestly want to find ONE that is going to stay... The current 4 speed may be it...

You said it yourself, you love the chase and the work to make them road worthy. You would have grown bored with that car very quickly because it wasn't a project car and didn't need a lot of work.

Good luck with your 4-speed '69, that's a cool one too. I hope to see it moving under its own power in 2025.

That is an absolutely stunning color combo. Painted top cars are special & especially those very few that weren't white or black tops. Is certainly one of many attributes that excites me about my 350 4-sp (Seamist w/Sherwood top). I have a '72 crew cab rear clip here that I believe was orig. Covert Tan w/a Hunter Green painted top.

Daves69 Too many cars too work on

You better make a decision soon.
These project cars aren't as plentiful as they once were, costing more, and requiring lots more work to get it on the road.

I know Dave…. I would love a 69 Stage… I think that would be it. I wouldn’t mind getting my black 4 speed ragtop back (Gary) or even the “cursed” Maroon Goon back… however, right now..,, it’s the Verde Green car…

GOAT in the combo. There was a member on here that had a 1969 GS400 in the same colors - both he and I looked at it out in southern California, and he bought it and brought back to the mid-west. He dropped off V*8 and I've lost track of it.
