The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. 1968 GS400 convertible top fold overlaps seat top

    Hi guys.
    I am looking for advice regarding the convertible top on my March built '68 GS. The installer says that he may not be able to fix an over lap problem with the last lay onto the top of the back seat by @ 3 1/2". I have not seen this condition on other '68 buicks, or any convertible for that matter. The attached pictures should tell the story.

    Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Jeff

    Is that a new top? It doesn't look like brand new material. Post a picture of the top in the closed position.

    ...do you just lower top all the way and then put boot on? There's a procedure in Owner's Manual for properly lowering top. Stop about 2' before fully lowered. Gently pull top/pad folds rearward from between arms. Then lower top all the way. Install boot. With top material/padding in rear of well, boot fits a lot better, and you won't get those nasty A-body convertible top wrinkles/tears behind quarter windows:eek:...

    Not a new top at all, I pulled this car out of a farmers shed after a 25 year hiatus. Never owned a convertible, but eventually found & read the destructions and was able to lay it down correctly. Thanks for your help guys.

    Thanks for the update. That's good news. I have a copy of a '68 specific convert top care and use booklet published by GM. I'll keep an eye out for it if you need a copy.

    ...just one last piece of advice. If top is that old, I would suggest driving only with top down, and put top up for parking/storage. Tops deteriorate over time, especially at bows. Driving with top up/windows down could cause an unintended sunroof. Not with GS, but been there, done that...
