There seems to be some confusion with the optional wheels available for the 65-72 Buick A-bodies so I am posting both Articles that I wrote for them. These articles will have photographs of the wheel types, will go into how to read the date codes, and will list some of the common attributes and rim codes for the wheels. The 14" article will also show how the "Super Sport" wheels changed design for the 71 model year. (Why Buick used the same name for two different styles of wheels, is something I will never understand.} To create these articles I looked at many hundreds of original wheels, plus got information from various Buick owners. I also got both the codes and date codes off each wheel, or it was not used in my database. All this info was posted on other sites, but has become hard to find, so I am posting it here. I made the pages into jpegs so they can be easily printed. The hope is that this thread will be made into a "sticky" so it can easily be found for reference. Duane- there was an abundance of great information posted on the BPG forums… sad it was lost. I recall some great posts about wheels and rims… Thank you for sharing!
