Great story & very near car! Never seem to see 68-9 Cats. More pics & maybe a pic of the window sticker?
An update on the progress...so far I've had the carb rebuilt, installed a new sending unit in the tank, oil change/lube, had the starter and solenoid rebuilt, put in a new battery and voltage regulator. I had the cracked exhaust manifold replaced and exhaust manifold gaskets installed. I had a new 2 1/4" dual exhaust put on with Flowmasters, replaced all four springs, replaced outer and inner tie rods and had a front end alignment done. Also added an electric fuel pump. This car is a blast to drive...It is different than my other 430 equipped Buicks. When I accelerate it up around 40 or 50 mph it really wants to take off! I tried my best with rubbing compound and wax-it is looking better than it did.
Super sharp!!!! I love these Cats and I am lucky enough to own probably the only buckets-and-console 68 coupe here in Australia. I am about to finally start spending big on it, beginning with the motor. I would love some close-up photos of the door mirrors - I have zero idea what the certified correct ones look like. May i ask what state you are located in, David?
Next time I get the car out I'll get some mirror pictures for you. I am in New Mexico-the Land of Enchantment!
Back in the day a neighbor down the street came home with the identical twin to this car. It was the sharpest, most beautiful car I had ever seen and quickly drew a crowd. I always wondered what happened to it and I have to wonder if this is it.
