I have a recent new block I bought. It is an early 1971 block with the stamp of WARS by the dipstick tube hole. It is a replacement block. Would this be of value to someone for their date correct or replacement block for their otherwise number matching car. It does have some rust in cylinders for a stock build. I plan to build stage 2 set up with it and figured I would see if of any value the other way first.
I will put some photos up tomorrow. It is now completely disassembled.

About a $500 value so just build it as you want.

I would say its definitely worth more than the average 455 core with that stamping. Someone will want it for their resto.

I paid 500 for a 76 NOS short block. It was sprayed in cosmolene very heavy, and till wrapped in plastic. Never ran never fired. The value for me was just the block. 71 has a better compression ratio than my 76 did.......I did keep the crank and sell the rods off cheap.

That's what my motor was as well. Never fired. I bought for a stage 2 project but it was mentioned to me to see if someone was looking for a period correct replacement block's
