Yeah, it took about an hour and a half to get the motor mount bolts in..... had used PST frame pads... they were to big for the mounts i had. so i had to grind them.... made them fit.... Measured drilled and bolted in... Then came the extra hour and a half... i'm sure you all know what i'm talking about. Okay, lift it, no lower it. hit it with the hammer, try now, no now, okay now, it's in, damnit it fell out..... the whole nine yards.... but we got it in and it sits nice. can't quite get the hood closed though, gues i'll get a GN hood, i like the way they look anyway. -Brendan

It's been such a long time since I've had the BBB Regal...I used whatever came stock on a '72 GS...if I understand you correctly, you installed the engine without the trans? When I did mine, both eng/trans went in together. The trans was bolted up to the crossmember as this would index where the engine should be in the engine compartment. If you're having clearance issues with the stock oil filter, I'm thinking the engine is too far forward.
it's all good. I think the clearance is because i have the extra plate in the oil filter, and the larger gears. when i put the trans in i'll just have to slide the mount a bit, it'll go. got a car to copy. an 86 monte with the same setup. -Brendan
Congrats! That's a good feeling getting that sucker in there and bolted up. I just use a stock size big-block filter. It just barely fits enough to start the filter on the threads. The difference with V8 Buick guys is that the owner is almost always the one who did the swap. Do-it-yourselfers. That's why we can't sell our cars for squat either...anyone interested in owning a V8 Regal would rather do it themselves rather than pay for one (unless you're like me and was too lazy to do another swap).
Note: I speak in past tense as my '81 BBB Regal is RIP...'91-'95ish Ditto, the taller gears and oil pump plate...it was a tight fit with the lower radiator hose just about laying on top of it but no interference with any stationary parts if that's what you mean.
Hi Guys, I found that an AC Delco PF24 and taking the pitman arm bolts and turning them around to where the bolt heads are facing out and the nuts and threaded portion are inside the frame rail. That's almost exactly what mine looks like, exept red, and the rest of the stuff (steering) is a bit dirtier... heh, most of that probably needs replacement too. but i'll figure that all out after i have the drivetrain completed.
