I cant believe that I have owned my GS455 4 speed for 40 years this month! Its been through quite a few different iterations during that time. I found it in a kind of storage yard in the Houston Texas area back in October of 1983, bought it, traveled with me through a few different residences, marriage, kids, job changes and now retirement. I hope to keep it till I cant push in the clutch anymore and then let one of my children or grand kids take over! Been quite a ride!! Two pictures are when I brought it to Michigan in October of 84. Last couple are how it looks now.
Beautiful car, I have owned my 70 stage 1 for 40 years back on August 8. I guess we can start a 40 plus year club.
46 years for me. It created my career. Semi retired now.including a professional snowmobile drag racing career $$$ that helped me buy my NAPA store.
I've owned this SunCoupe for 36 years. My son Matt (30) was racing it last weekend. Added 175lbs in trunk and shifted at 4500 to slow it down for 12.50 index. 455 motor was put in in 1988, before he was born. Came out of a 70 Riv with 90K on it. I threw cam, intake, headers on it. Ported small valve heads. Never touched the bottom end. So basically he was racing with a 53 yr old motor with now over 100k miles and a couple thousand passes....boggles my mind. Zero blowby, great oil pressure..... Fuzzy pic from 1990.....
Dad's 64 Riviera has been in the family for 40 years now and I intend to keep it that way. I've had my Skylark for 35 years and my GS for 25 years.
Wow and wow. Beautiful cars guys! I purchased my 68' Skylark at age 19 in 1994 and have been able to keep it for 29 years next month. I've had a few moments where I've questioned selling it but decided against it. It's like part of the family and there's no way I can part with it. Been through good and bad times with me. I love the old car. Jim
