Repo tire are finally available and will go on the restored wheels soon. The wheels/tires on the car in the photos are just temps. My stainless polishing guy still has the trim rings, I need to get him to put it in high gear and get them done.
I had a beautiful bucket/console/280 4bbl 70 Skylark Custom in the same color scheme when I was a kid. Love the car, like what yer doing.
I brought the car home yesterday. It's still dusty, needs to have the trim rings installed on the Super Sport wheels, have the idle adjusted, and a few other odds and ends. Tape around battery opening is so nothing gets nicked up when installing the repop battery when it arrives. Engine is still fresh so I haven't really driven it yet other than a couple laps around my storage unit.
Beautiful! And inspirational - My '70 S1 is Sherwood/green vinyl top. Hope you can bring it to BG next year! Just picked up a set of those wheels w/rings/caps off a '70. My '70 350 4-sp (Seamist/Sherwood painted top) came w/Deluxe (i.e. Volcano) Wheel Covers & was planning on going w/them but considering the Super Sport Wheels. Would be great to see a restored set!
Well Congratulations! Sure looks nice Stacey, you did an awesome job! Now it’s time to start enjoying the fruits of your labor! I’ve got about 1k mikes on mine since completion. You will be surprised how many people love Sherwood Green … I hear it all the time when I take mine out, something like …”wow, I never thought I’d like a green car until I saw yours!”
Didn’t know about that show. Only 300 miles … have to see if any of my local GS friends are up to it. Haven’t been to a BCA event in a long while … Thx for the info!
I hope you can make it! Love the color & clear glass & super jealous of your shift boot!. I need 2 & correct ones aren't avail.
Original SS stamped block, date code correct carb, alternator, and starter (not original to the car). pretty much everything else in the driveline is original.
