My hood hinges mainly the springs are shot due to the engine bay fire years ago. Since finding these are near impossible and they are a one year only does anyone know where to source parts for them? Thanks
I managed to find hood springs for my '66 Wildcat, a two year only hinge. They were on eBay, not cheap, but not excessively so. I almost didn't purchase them because it said "No Returns, No Refunds". I took the chance and on them and was pleasantly surprised. No more stick holding my hood.
True, but I need a measurement on other GM springs to be sure. I would think that other GM springs of that year would work.
im sure they would. if you could find right tension and length you would have no issue. you can get some others repo. maybe try a set of a square body truck.
So the length of my springs are 8in end to end. The only match in length is from a 67-69 camaro that I've found so far
Yep, but those are the only ones that are the same length... what a pita. I'd send my hinges to someone who could make some from scratch but I need to do some calling around. Maybe my only option
you prob could get something close from a spring manufacturer im sure. maybe try the camaro one just see if they work.
https://www.amazon.com/0849-549-Springs-1967-1972-Suburban-Blazer/dp/B07DPR3NQ3 those are 8.4 inches total might work. you could maybe bend the hoop part down some
try reaching out to seller "pacerjeff" on ebay with your spring measurements not me, no relation, just a guy I bought parts from before here's a shot of his ebay listing
Look in this forum @Freakazoid had a 68 Riviera for parts. Those springs should work. I had my hinges rebuilt, not a bad investment if the hood doesn’t sit flat when closed.
