Very highly doubt it. It's been decades since I researched possible rearend swaps for my '67, but in the end I do remember coming up with nothing. The late '60's is tough; it wasn't until a bit later that GM pushed commonization. The problem's not so much finding something that works width-wise, but rather the upper/lower control arm, spring and shock mounts seem to be highly unique for our Buicks. Trouble with the existing rear end? If strength is a concern, I wouldn't worry about it. The 9-3/8 is pretty stout, twelve bolt ring gear and all. Unfortunately parts-wise the aftermarket only supplies repair parts like bearings and seals. No help with aftermarket ring & pinion or posi carriers. Gotta find used. Devon
Well I'd like a posi unit and a 3.xx gear which are hard to find, especially the posi unit. If I could find those there is no need for a swap. My current gear ratio is 2.79
I feel your pain; took me quite a while to find a 3.42:1 posi setup for myself. I still have eyes & ears open for such stuff, if I come across anything I'll be in touch. Devon
Get in touch with Jim at www.jdrace.com and here on V8 Buick at https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?members/monzaz.3880/ @monzaz A few years back he did an interesting hybrid job, welding late '60's 9-3/8" axle tubes to a later model center section (Chevy 8.5 or 12 bolt? Don't remember) which had awesome aftermarket support, and adding aftermarket axles. It can be done! Devon
Another option is to just buy a universal 9in housing/axle package at the right length and add on the suspension mounts
Quick Performance builds them for F*rd 9” to fit our cars, you need to call them for C bodies but you can see rough pricing by looking at their website. They are a popular vendor on a GM a/g body site I frequent. https://www.quickperformance.com/
Looking to get my hinges rebuilt with new bushings, springs, ect. While searching the interwebs I came across this outfit HoodHingeRepair.com that rebuilds classic car hinges. Sent them a message today and hopefully get these back to better than new. My understanding is 68 Electra hood hinges are one year only fitment.
HoodHingeRepair.com emailed me back and said he can not get new springs for my hinges. Guess I'll try to find springs and rebuild them myself
Moser sells a Ford 9” with brackets already welded on. It is a direct bolt in. B9HP1 is their part number. I have one under my 67 Electra.
Funny thing is I emailed Moser and they replied that they do not make a rear lol.... wtf??? I'll call Tuesday and give them that part# and see what they say
I'm measuring to buy gold permanent 3/4 inch wide stripes. I put yellow 3/4 inch tape on and absolutely loved the look. Really makes the wheel pop and breaks up the silver and black
The yellow is a tape line for a visual. I'm adding a gold stripe the same width to break up all the black and silver. I absolutely love these spoke wheels
