This morning I drove my Skylark to work to work on the drums. During the drive I used the left signal, upon completing the turn it went off however the indicator on the dash stay illuminated. Right signal wasn’t blinking correctly so I checked the bulbs all good. I then changed the flasher; now they blink correctly but the bash indicator remains on. Any thoughts?
If the filament in one of the bulbs breaks off and lands on the other the circuit will be complete with the marker lights on. It'll light up the indicator on the dash. This happens once in a while.
All original type bulbs, I’ll check all the bulbs, this has happened before, the filament breaking off and the signals stayed on in that situation. Thanks guys
It means one of the bulbs is bad. Look closer. The system is designed to do that when one of the bulbs is out. The 1157 bulbs have two filaments.
Larry not to hijack, but on the same subject, if a directional indicator stays solid green, even though the taillight is blinking as it should, what could be the cause of that? It is also intermittent.
I went through the left side and found a bulb that had a filament that was touching the other side, still same issue, I’ll pull the bulbs on the other side when I get a chance
