Looking for some 14" wheels to put poverty caps on for my '79 regal. Originally was looking for 15s, but decided to use the tires I already have. Preferably black. Chicagoland area if possible.
I am located in Erie,PA. Whatever you think is fair,I am cool with that. These are from Georgia and not crusty and pitted. I can either ship them FedEx ground,or I might have a driver that is passing through here in a few weeks that is headed to Illinois. I could ask him what he would charge.
Ok sounds good to me. I've got to get them sandblasted and painted and pay for shipping so I have been looking for a good deal. How does $35/piece sound?
You need G body wheels only, I have a few G bodies and have used every wheel and they stick to the caliper or will rub. Have a set of 14 inch off a 70 with disc brakes, nope, thinking they would clear but nope.
Damm, so if I can't find 14" g-body steel wheels, then my only other option would be to size up to 15s? I originally wanted 15s, but then decided to just use the tires off the 14s I already have just to see if I like the look.
Yes, 15 would clear that caliper. 14 came in different width, maybe you can try out one of Brians wheels. I have a few that I need to use, got aftermarket wheels on a 78 Malibu just to keep it rolling.
These particular wheels are on a drum/drum car,but I have another set on a disc/drum car. I know the other ones “look” the same as these, but they clear the calipers. Maybe they are later G-body rims? I can get pictures of those too.
Theres a fb page called "g body automobile parts for sale" and the guy says hes got 14x7 steel wheels off a g-body that he'll sell for $250 shipped. Anyone ever see that page before?
I have 4 that I don' t think are all they same though. 1 may be different but were on a 1965 Skylark. They are 14 inch rims with junk tires in them. I'm in Plainfield but the wheels are 30 minutes south of me in Braceville.
I tried to use ‘68 drum steelies (14”) to move a ‘75 Firebird and they would not clear the caliper. It wouldn’t roll. In other news, El Caminos from ‘78-‘87 all had full size 14” steelies for spares, and they were stowed in the cabin’s smugglers box behind the seat (under the bed). Patrick (This is a screenshot of an insanely priced one on ebay. Mine is like this but I’m not selling it.)
I found a guy in Plano, IL (didn't even know we had a plano, il lol) that has 4 wheels and tires that came off his 78 Malibu. I assume these have to work. And he's selling them for cheap so i guess im taking a trip out there lol
