Hello! I'm straightening out the interior of my '71 Stage 1. Way back in the day, someone cut holes in the kick panels to install 4" speakers. The speakers are long gone, but the holes are not. 1) I'm aware that Stage 1 Restoration makes them for $184. Anyone know if they look and fit well? 2) They come in ONE color, black. My interior is cinnamon brown, so they have to be painted. Does anyone make the correct color paint for interior plastic? 3) I took a look at them today, and other than the hold down from the sill plate, I did not see any screws holding them in. How are the fastened, and how to you remove them? Thanks... Chris Monroe, CT
Seems like there’s content here somewhere that Jason posted. It could be part of one of his restoration threads. Try a search.
Ha! Thanks Brian! Yep, did them on 2 cars. The clean up is the real hassle http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/non-a-c-kick-panel-restoration.361498/
HOLY CRAP!!! The engineers must have had it in for the mechanics when they designed that one. Is it necessary to remove the parking brake assembly to remove the kick panel on the DS?
