Well there ya go! Its listed on market place and CL. Couple of pics from the listings. It cleaned up ok. Paints tired and might freshen up with a good cut n buff.
Its listed on CL/ market place and Feebay. auction starts at 3500. BIN 4500. Let me know if interested.
This is still here. Really surprised its not sold. E bay got 1 bid. No calls from market place or CL.
If you are so inclined lets make a deal. Other than moving this to a new home I have no interest in doing anything more to it. Hope it goes soon so I have room to get something else!
It may sell closer to spring (and tax refund time); at your price it’s a great ‘impulse’ kind of purchase. Patrick
I’m seeing these more and more in the midwest, especially the convertibles for sale. I’m sure it will sell before long. The early GTIs are considered the original “hot hatch” and very popular with enthusiasts in Europe and catching on here. My 18 yr old got into VWs - air cooled Beetles are really fun. Thats his ‘72
I had a 70 Beetle in the early 2000's . I was a fun car but way to small. Slow, loud , hot in the summer. Sold it to my sister and then she sold it to someone else.
Not saying it's not tempting. To be honest I have no idea where to start with an offer. Be a sweet ride. I know I can't offer the 3k. I don't mean to be an asshole. But if you're flexible it might give me a fun reason to go to florida.
Really cannot go much less than the 3500.00. Have to make a min profit. How I fund the race car and other fun stuff I do.
Youngster messaged me on the Marketplace listing. Wanted to come see it this afternoon. Was very surprised when he actually showed up. Test drove it handed me cash and headed home with his prize. Hes got a 120 mile drive home.
Back in the early 80’s I drove my parents diesel rabbit and my best friend drove his moms gas Rabbit. We decided to take them out on the highway and run em. He pulled away at first and had about a car lengths lead. I was using the full 80 hp in the diesel and began to slowly catch and pass him. This is NOT street racing! He topped out at 79 and I topped out at 82 mph. It was hilarious!!! Cliff
I remember those diesel jobs like my buddy at Appalachia had. 4 of us went out party hopping off campus & on one hill 3 of us literally had to get out and walk along side the car for it to make the sharp rural incline . Wasn’t exactly a chick magnet either.
I was actually quite interested in that car for my oldest daughter (junior in college) but the concept was sneered at due to that weird three-pedal set up.
You could always point out that using her feet on three pedals is better than using them on the sidewalk… Patrick
