I split my left and right channels between the front dash and the rear seat speakers in my 64 vert. The rear speaker is a 6-1/4 round and the front a 4x10 dual voice coil with the coils connected as one. It sounds great with more bass than I ever expected.
Why does that look so good?? I had black ones in my 72 GS convertible (black interior) in that spot that someone else did and I got rid of them around 1983 or so. Up until now, I detested speakers there. Very well done!
I plan on possibly doing speakers in that general location but will put them on the inside and perforate the cover in some sort of pattern with a small hole punch so the sound comes out but ya cant see the speaker. If I dont like the look I'll just recover that part again.
My convertible has speakers installed back there like that, it almost looks factory but don’t think it is. I’ll have to snap some photos of it.
Here is that photo of the back speakers in my skylark, it looks factory to me. Anyone else seen this? Both left and right side.
That is very nicely done. You could probably do something like that for a door card as well. Not ideal for sound but very elegant.
