Anyone know if the dim's on this V6 internal sfi flexplate are close to 350 dim's? Bolt pattern the same or close? Tooth count is the same, not sure of dia. Maybe the I.d. can be opened up to fit a 350 crank if it's smaller? https://www.ebay.com/itm/BUICK-231-...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
I'll be surprised if it wouldn't work. If not, maybe one of these Co's would make one if you requested it.
checked my v6, 3.8/4.1, and 350 f/w's. they are the same dia, tooth count and bolt pattern. i checked jw trans and they show v6 @160 and 350 @ 166. figure that out. would be a great deal if they match. jw's are 300.00. who wants to be the first guinea pig......
That's the question. My stock & JW "the wheel" plates are all 160 tooth. I.D. should be same as 350. Bolt pattern? Who knows. Yep, it's thicker, s.f.i. rated to 12k, so a great deal if .....
emailed them, see reply The teeth pitch slight different but will fit on starter without any problem Sincerely CrankShaft Depot eStore not a real good answer. but i'm game
did you see what else he ahs for sale... www.ebay.com/itm/363037784073?hash=item5486bcf809:g:fpUAAOSwJEBe~ima
I just want to know if it bolts up to crank. Starter can be shimmed. When are you going to have it in your hands John?
Now, if they only made an internal balancer for less than 600. When I bought my bhj they said it was only the 4th one sold since 1990.
Sean, I believe gsJohnny mentioned too much of a pita. Alignment modding needed. Dano, bore gaged 350 bores with and without head torqued down from bottom side. No change in size so torque plate seems not necessary. I'm with john on this sfi flexplate. I'm game...
Anyone that has a shift kit in their trans should have one unless you want the stock one to crack from those hard shifts just sayin.
I read an article that basically said the same thing. Bought the torque plate back in the '90's before we knew. I'll use it on future builds since I have it but... On those fragile 455's. it supposedly makes a difference if you bolt a head to the opposite bank.
If you use studs, and possibly a few threads deeper than factory bolts, you might find a difference. I did not check using aftermarket studs....factory probably never used a plate on the eng line.
i have a 350 torque plate. never used it. just holding the floor down. i bought my ati balancer direct. its a ford redone for a buick. too much stuff. scrap man will be happy when i die. lol i had to buy the sfi f/w for the twin engine altered project. don't think needed for front engine. just diapers($$$)
